The CA-6 Series Analyzers are a family of on-line sequential sampling analyzers that use Colorimetric technologies to perform an analysis. The CA6 silica, is offered in three ranges 0-1.00 mg/L, 0-10.00 mg/L and 0-50.0 mg/L. The measurement uses the molybdenum method with three reagents. Reagent 1, sodium molybdate in sulfuric acid, is added and forms a silicomolybdic complex. Reagent 2, oxalic acid, is added to remove interference caused by phosphates in the sample and to intensify the color. Reagent 3, ferrous ammonium sulfate in sulfuric acid, is added to reduce the silicomolybdic complex to a blue molybdenum complex. The blue color is directly proportional to the silica concentration. Each analysis uses 1.0 ml of each reagent. Each analysis cycle takes approximately 11.5 minutes.
