The CA-6 Series Analyzers are a family of on-line sequential sampling analyzers that use Colorimetric technologies to perform an analysis. The CA6 Hardness is offered in three ranges 0-1.000 mg/L, 0-10.00 mg/L and 0-50.0 mg/L. The measurement uses the Cresolphthalein method with two reagents. Reagent 1, Cresolphthalein indicator and Reagent 2, ethanolamine, are added to the sample. The Cresolphthalein develops a violet color that is directly proportional to the concentration of calcium and magnesium present. Each analysis uses 0.75 ml of each reagent. Each analysis cycle takes approximately 6 minutes.
